Finally! Bess Lovejoy’s book, Rest in Pieces: The Curious Fates of Famous Corpses, is coming out on Tuesday, March 12–and there’s going to be a big launch party at the Rendezvous Jewel Box Theater in Seattle. Not only will there be a reading and a book signing, but rumor has it that there will also be a guest skull or two. I can’t think of a better excuse to raise a glass. Na zdraví to Bess and to all those dead folks!

In the meantime, check out her article featured in The Stranger last week: “The Madam Who Turned to Stone.”

Two of my poems will be shown along with many other works about all things nuclear in the exhibit, Particles on the Wall.  If you happen to find yourself the vicinity of Hanford and the Tri-Cities, do pop in the WSU Art Center.  The exhibit is free, and runs through April 4th.

Rachelle Delaney, a fantastic young adult writer based in Vancouver, BC, has written another fine book, The Metro Dogs of Moscow–the official launch is set for tomorrow in Vancouver, BC.  Apparently stray dogs learn the subway system in Moscow as a means of getting around.  Unfortunately, it’s not available in the States, but it’s a good excuse to head up to Canada if you’re not there already.

Come March, Bess Lovejoy, Seattle-based writer and force of nature, is launching her first book, Rest in Pieces, a work of non-fiction about the adventures of famous people after their deaths.  She’s written some great articles for the New York Times, and you might’ve heard her recently on NPR.

    Walking in South Bohemia

Excellent news! The Kenyon Review Online has accepted another story of mine:  “Vodník,” which was partly written as Artist-in-Residence at Milkwood International in South Bohemia.  Publication date TBA.

About a year ago, they published “The Consolidation of Spaces,” also inspired by the landscape and history of South Bohemia.  You can read it here.
