Chelsea Bolan writes a lot about people in search of their own power. Her work has appeared in The Kenyon Review, Seattle Weekly, CutBank, Fourteen Hills, Borderlands, Poetry Northwest, The Portland Review, Bayou, Fair Fight, and in Particles on the Wall, an exhibition about the Hanford Nuclear Site. Her first novel, The Good Sister (HarperCollins, 2016), won the HarperCollins/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction.

Born in Spokane, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Washington and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.  She is a GAP grant (Grants for Artist Projects) recipient and was an Artist-in-Residence at Milkwood International in Český Krumlov, Czechia. She lives in Seattle.
